Guaranteed, uncapped, locked in before a single entry lands. From there, the prize pool grows as the Classic grows, more entries, bigger pool. Simple as that.
The brands behind the Classic
Real Australian brands backing a fishing competition built to give back.
How it works
No boat ramp queues, no weigh-in station. Just four simple steps.
Enter
Sign up and pay your entry online, takes a couple of minutes.
Fish
Get out there during the event window, wherever you already fish.
Submit your catch
Snap two photos, log the species and size, and submit it through the site.
See how you stack up
Every catch gets reviewed, then it hits the live leaderboard in the comp app.
Six ways to win it
You're not just fishing for one prize. There's a category for the overall champion, most fish, the ladies, the juniors, the teams and a mystery prize on top. Enter once, you're in the running across the board.
Champion Overall
The standout catch of the whole comp, any species, takes home the $1,000 guaranteed cash prize pool. The big one everyone's chasing.
Most Fish
Not the biggest, the most. Highest tally across the window takes this one.
Champion Ladies
Best in the ladies' bracket. Out-fish the boys.
Champion Jrs
Best from the under-16s. The next generation's category.
Champion Team
Best combined effort for team entries. Fish it with the crew.
Mystery Prize
A surprise category, rules dropping closer to the date. Keep an eye out.
Pick your entry
Two entry types, both help grow the $1,000 guaranteed cash prize pool and the Top Blokes donation.
17 and over. Eligible for every category, overall, most fish, ladies, team and the mystery prize.
16 and under. Runs in its own division with a dedicated junior category.
Optional: Classic Merch Pack, $45
Competition T-Shirt · Stink Slayer Bar · Air Freshener · Sticker
You add it during registration, it's not a separate purchase. Adult entry + pack comes to $100, junior entry + pack comes to $75.
Merch pack orders close 23 December 2026, about a month out from the event, so everything ships in time.
Fish solo, or bring your mates
Teams are completely optional. Fish it solo and you're in exactly the same running, or team up for a shot at the team category and a discount for everyone in it.
No team required
Enter on your own and compete as an individual across every category. Most entrants fish solo.
Know a crew already fishing?
Enter their team name at registration and everyone in it saves $2.50 off their entry.
Rope in the crew
Start a team after you register, teams of 2–4, and go for the Champion Team category together.
Every entry backs Top Blokes
Top Blokes Foundation runs social and emotional mentoring programs for boys and young men aged 10–24, getting them in a room talking about the hard stuff, mental health, anger, risk-taking, respect, before it turns into something worse. Real programs, measured results, not a logo on a wall.
This isn't a good cause bolted onto a fishing comp. Stink Slayer already donates a cut of every sale to Top Blokes, and the comp is the same commitment, just bigger and louder. Every entry chips into the $6,000 target, so the fish you catch this January actually goes somewhere that matters.
Fair questions
How does judging work?
It's all photo-based. During the event window, snap your catch, log the species and weight or length, and submit two photos through the site. Every catch gets reviewed before it hits the leaderboard, no driving a fish across town to a weigh station.
What if I don't have a boat?
Doesn't matter. Land and jetty entries are completely valid, this is fished wherever you already fish. Rock, beach, breakwall, riverbank or boat, it all counts the same.
What counts as a valid catch photo?
Your fish next to a ruler or scale in frame, plus a second photo showing the catch or release clearly, both taken during the event window. Judges review every submission before it hits the leaderboard.
Can I enter more than once?
One entry per person. If you're also in a team, that's separate, your individual entry and your team both count toward the categories they're eligible for.
Do I need a fishing licence?
Yes. You're responsible for holding whatever fishing licence or permit applies where you're fishing, the Classic doesn't provide one. Fish within your state or territory's rules and limits.
Can I get a refund if I can't make it?
Entries are non-refundable once paid, but you can transfer your spot to someone else, just email us before the event window opens and we'll sort it.
